Diving
We strongly recommend diving on the Taipus de fora coral reef. You can rent diving equipment at the two local diving schools, where you can also enroll on a course to get your diving license. The snorkeling equipment is available directly on the beach.

Underwater Spear fishing
The waters of the area are rich in lobster, octopus, and other fish typical of the coral reef, such as grouper.

Shore fishing
Fishing on the shore is popular also with the locals from the village. You may even catch a fantastic trophy fish!

Kayak
If you want something more adventurous than a relaxing walk on the beach, you can organize a sea kayaking tour to discover the numerous surrounding islands. If you wish, it is also possible to sleepover in a tent, or ask for a homestay with the local residents or fishermen.
Remember that many of the islands are not on the open sea, but protected in the Bay of Camamu, where the sea is always calm.

Surfing
The beaches between Barra Grande and Taipus are ideal for surfing and kite surfing. The most noteworthy are Tres Coqueiros and Bombaca.

Horse Riding
In the village there are agencies that organise horse riding along the beach and through the untouched nature of the interior of the peninsula.

Capoeira
Capoeira courses are held daily at the cultural centre in the village. These are open to everyone.

Yoga
You can participate in various private yoga and meditation courses on the beach.

Drumming
Bahia is world famous for drumming, and at Barra Grande it is possible to sit in on concerts by locals and also take private courses.
