From Salvador
By Air: Direct flights (20 minutes) are available from the airport of Salvador. Ask at the Airline desks at the airport.

By Ferry/bus: From the port of Salvador, you can get a ferry to Bom Despacho (45 minutes), and from the exit of the port there are many different buses that take you to Camamu’ (3 hours 30 minutes). From Camamu’ you can choose between a speedboat (20 minutes) or a ferry (1 hour 30 minutes) that travels around the mangroves in the Bay of Camamu’ to arrive at Barra Grande.
This last option takes longer, but is also a lot cheaper compared with flying. We recommend the Ferry/Bus choice for those who have more time to spend in Brazil.

From Morro di San Paolo
By Air: You can fly from Morro di San Paolo by Piper in just ten minutes. The view is spectacular.
By Ferry/Bus: There are hourly speed boats that you can take from Morro di San Paolo to Valenca (30 mins). From there, head to the Rodoviara (bus station) and take a bus to Camamu’ (1 hour 45 minutes). From Camamu’ you can take a speed boat (20 minutes) or a ferry (1 hour 30 minutes).
By Ferry: Only in high season a direct ferry connection can be taken from Morro di San Paolo to Barra Grande (1 hour 30 minutes).

From Ilheus
Ferry/Bus: There are various bus companies that link Ilheus and Camamu’ in a trip that takes around 5 hours. From Camamu’ to Barra Grande you can take a speedboat (20 minutes) or a ferry (1 hour 30 minutes)
